When Yamaha first introduced the b1 a few years ago it certainly created excitement! We received telephone calls from far and wide asking if we had one in stock!

We were very impressed with  the b1, offering Yamaha quality at an afforable price made possible by lower manufacturing costs in the new Yamaha  facory in Indonesia where all models in the b series are produced.

The b1 is a smart, compact  88 note piano with 3 pedals (including ‘practice’ pedal) and a clear, bright tone The height is 109cm, width is 148cm and depth 54cm. It is available in black bright finish at £2,999.00 and in simulated mahogant bright finish at £3,199.00.

The b2 is slightly larger (113cm) and has  more traditional styling with columns and toes. The increased size of the soundboard adds to the tonal performance so here is a piano that pleases both the eye and the ear!

The b3 is the top-of-the-range model in the b series. At first glance it looks like the famous model U-1, as the height is 121cm (4′ 00″). This is a ‘serious’ piano with a broad tonal palette designed to satisfy an experienced player.

 The b3 features traditional styling with columns and toes. Width is 152cm and depth 61cm. We currently stock a b3 in black bright (poyester) finish at £4,299.00.

All models in the b series offer the superb responsive action that has made Yamaha so popular with professional artists and in schools and colleges throughout the world.

When the b series first came on the market there was some concern as to how the Indonesian built models would compare to the traditional Hamamatsu built instruments. Certainly our experience has been very positive, having supplied b series models to teachers, schools,  pianists of varying levels of proficiency and a well known composer of light music.
