Bosendorfer

We were delighted when we were offered the opportunity to purchase this Bosendorfer grand. Originally made in Vienna circa 1920, this instrument (200cm/6′ 7″) was in need of full internal restoration. The casework looked ‘tired’ and in need of refurbishment.
David decided to completely rebuild the instrument. The work included fitting a new laminated tuning plank - to provide increased durability and tuning stability - a complete action overhaul together with new hammers, rollers and dampers. Meantime the casework was re-finished in ebony high polish prior to re-stringing.
At last the moment arrived when David could focus upon the all important voicing and regulation. It was at this point that our client saw and played the piano for the first time. He was already aware of the quality of our work having previously entrusted us with the restoration of his Bechstein grand.
The piano made it to Edinburgh and now looks stunning. More to the point , it sounds stunning. If only my limited playing skills were up to the quality of the instrument and the superb craftmanship that you put into the restoration.
Thank you again for such a fine piece of work and I hope there are many more to follow for other lucky clients.
Mr W. Edinburgh
