For BeginnersThe Stentor Student I and Student II are often recommended by schools and teachers. We keep in stock all sizes of the Student I model right down to the tiny 16th size. We also keep some sizes of the Student II for those looking for something a little more stylish.
For Those Moving On
Andreas Zeller violins are made in Romania and provide the tonal quality and performance needed for pupils working at more advanced grades. The Yamaha V5 violin outfit is another good choice for intermediate to more advanced players.
Two further models, from the Hidersine range of violins, which would be of interest to intermediate players are the Piacenza and the Veracini.
Something a Bit Different
Harlequin violins are available in the different sizes and in a variety of dazzling colours! Purple is very popular.
The electric violin is something else to consider – we stock the Carlo Giordano and Yamaha electric models. We can also obtain Bridge electric violins.
What Size Do I Need?
Violins come in different sizes – 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 and 4/4 (full-size). Should you be in doubt about the correct size to purchase we will be happy to advise.
Bows for entry level instruments are normally kept in stock along with a few bows of the next level up.
If you are looking for a high quality bow, we operate a bow approval scheme where we obtain a number of bows from our supplier which you can try out in the shop.
